Meiri
The merging of old world and new technologies that
together produce the finest jewelry collections in
the most efficient and cost effective process. Marina
likes to experiment with materials and textures resulting
in original designs at affordable prices. We use the latest
technology to design and manufacture our products, however
still rely on hand assembly and good old-fashioned customer service.
Colored gemstones have always been among the most popular
and expressive forms of jewelry. The bright colors of colored
gems give each a unique personality, and personal tastes in color
often dictate preferences for particular stones. Long before
diamonds were found worthy of jewelry, people revered sapphires, rubies, and emeralds.
Marina's distinctive jewelry collection features a myriad o
f semi-precious gemstones set in handcrafted gold-filled designs.
Our stones include thefinest Coral, fresh water pearl, Malachite,
Azorite, Garnet, Amethysts, Blue Opal, Opal, Blue Topaz, turquoise,
citrine, Zircons, and many others. The value of semi-precious
gemstones varies depending on the availability of the mineral;
natural CORAL, for example, is hard to come by and more valuable
than most other semi-precious stones. Semi-precious stones are
always more plentiful than precious stones. We select premium,
well-colored and very clean stones, best suited for jewelry production.
Gemstones
Cleaning gemstones is easy. Simply soak the piece in
a bowl of warm, soapy water for several minutes and then
use a soft, non-metallic brush to remove dirt and grime.
If you use a jewelry cleanser, make sure it is non-abrasive.
Do not use harsh chemical cleaners, and do not clean
the item in the sink, as too often… it ends up down the
drainpipe. Keep in mind that some gemstones may have
been treated or enhanced by heating, oiling, irradiation
or diffusion. Heated and irradiated stones generally
do not require special care when cleaning, however diffused
stones could become lighter if scrubbed too hard. Store
each piece of jewelry separately either in its own sealed
bag, cloth pouch, box or a jewelry wrap.
Silver
Properly maintained, silver jewelry will actually improve
with age, developing a lush shiny surface, and well-treated,
silver can last for generations. Store your silver pieces
in a cool, dry place. As silver tarnishes more quickly
than gold or platinum, store pieces in a tarnish-preventing
bag or wrapped soft piece of cloth. This also helps prevent
pieces from knocking into and scratching each other.
Do not wear silver jewelry to bed, in the shower or the
swimming pool. Because silver oxidizes, it should not
be worn 24 hours a day. As with gold, do not expose silver
to chlorine, sulfur or strong household cleaning supplies
since the harsh chemicals can erode the quality and sheen.
Traditional sterling silver has no additional treatment
or plating. Care and cleaning of traditional sterling
can be with a polishing cloth or sterling cleaner. NEVER
use liquid silver cleaner on jewelry with natural stones
or semi-precious gemstones.
